CITY’s FAQ when you apply at CITY

Starting a new job can be an exciting but also nerve-wracking time. You have made it through the process of getting hired but now what?

At CITY, we want to make the experience as easy and as comfortable as possible. We know it can be overwhelming. We know there are a lot of necessary steps and processes.

That’s why we have compiled a list of commonly asked questions we frequently encounter so you can be prepared.

 

Where do I have to go for my interview/first day?

Our main office is located at 1700 S Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662. If you applied for a job in our production, office, or maintenance department it is very likely you will meet the hiring manager here. Please come to the front desk and let them know you are here for an interview or your first day. They will get the appropriate person to you as fast as possible.

 

Due to the coronavirus, many interviews are still being conducted via ZOOM or other applications. The CITY employee you have been in touch with throughout your application process will specify if they would like to meet via ZOOM or in person.

 

CITY also has several depot locations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Des Moines, Iowa and Faribault, Minnesota. Unless specified by your CITY contact, you will most likely interview at the corporate office. If you were instructed to interview at one of our branches, here are the addresses for each of our depots and corporate facility.

Who do I contact if I have any questions regarding my employment status?

When is it okay to follow up and ask for a status update regarding my resume?

 

All we ask is that you do allow us at least 1 day to review all job applications. If you still haven’t heard from us, reach out to our Director of Communications. We pride ourselves in being a responsive company so if you call, it shows us that you are excited and passionate about the position you applied for.
